CBSE Announces Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Drawing and Painting Competition for Students!

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a circular announcing an exciting Drawing and Painting Competition for students of Classes 6 to 8. This competition, organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L) under the Ministry of Education (MoE), aims to celebrate the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 by promoting cultural diversity, ceremonial traditions, and rituals through artistic creativity.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to students of Classes 6 to 8 from CBSE-affiliated schools across the country (excluding KVS and NVS schools).
  • Participation is voluntary and encourages creative engagement.

Themes for the Maha Kumbh Mela Contest

Participants can choose from the following themes to showcase their creativity:

Bhavya Maha Kumbh: Highlight the spiritual magnificence and vibrant atmosphere of the Maha Kumbh, including the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati at Prayagraj.

Divya Maha Kumbh: Depict the traditions, rituals, and ceremonies associated with the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat: Illustrate the cultural diversity and harmony fostered through the Maha Kumbh Mela.

The competition offers exciting prizes for both categories (Drawing and Painting) at the All-India Level:

  • Second Prize: ₹10,000
  • Third Prize: ₹7,000
  • 10 Consolation Prizes: Each winner will receive a certificate and a gift hamper.
  • Submission Details

Schools are required to submit the shortlisted entries to CBSE by 30 January 2025 using an Android phone app available on the Google Play Store. The app can be downloaded through this official link.

Best Entries Selection:

  • Five best entries in each category will be selected from each CBSE region.
  • The top ten entries at the CBSE level will qualify for the National Level Competition.

Evaluation Process: The decision of the evaluation committee will be final, and no further correspondence regarding the results will be entertained.
