CBSE Promotes Tax Awareness Among Students Through Income Tax Department Comic Series

New Delhi, October 29, 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a new initiative to promote tax awareness among school children through a series of engaging comic books developed by the Directorate of Income Tax.

The eight-part comic series, published by the Directorate of Public Relations, Publication & Publicity, Directorate of Income Tax, features popular cartoon characters Motu and Patlu and is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

According to the circular (No: CBSE/Secy/C./2025, dated 28.10.2025), the comics aim to make tax literacy fun and relatable for young learners while highlighting the importance of income tax in nation-building and responsible citizenship.
