CBSE Expression Series 2 Announced – Students from Classes 3 to 12 Can Participate, Submit Entries by November 20!
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the launch of its second Expression Series for the 2025–26 academic session, themed “Farming for a Future-Sustaining Rural India.”
The initiative encourages students from Classes 3 to 12 to participate in creative competitions that promote awareness about agriculture, sustainability, and rural development.
Encouraging Creative Expression Among Students
The Expression Series is designed to help students express their thoughts through essays, poems, and paintings on topics related to India’s rural life, agriculture, and sustainability.
According to CBSE, the competition will be conducted in four categories, allowing participation from the primary (Classes 3–5) to the senior secondary level (Classes 11–12).
Students can submit their entries through their schools by November 20, 2025. The selection will be carried out at the school, regional, and national levels in two stages.
Four Participation Categories
The Expression Series 2 will be open in the following categories:
- Primary (Classes 3–5): My Village, My Pride and Our Farmers – Our Strength
- Middle (Classes 6–8): Journey of Food – From Farms to Our Plates, Bridging Rural and Urban India
- Secondary (Classes 9–10): Sustainable Agriculture and Youth’s Role in Rural Development
- Senior Secondary (Classes 11–12): Agri-Based Industry – The Future of India’s Development
Each category will focus on one specific theme and activity type (essay, poem, or painting).
Selection and Evaluation Process
Every school can choose four best entries, one from each category, and submit them to the CBSE regional level. From these, the top 10 entries from each region will be shortlisted and further evaluated at the national level. The final three entries from across the country will be selected as national winners.
Students can submit their work in both English and Hindi. The entries will be judged on creativity, originality, expression, and relevance to the theme.
Objective of the Series
The Expression Series aims to inspire students to engage with real-world issues such as agriculture, food security, and sustainable livelihoods.
It provides a platform for young learners to reflect on India’s rural heritage, the role of farmers, and the importance of balancing growth between cities and villages.
CBSE has also directed schools to motivate maximum participation and ensure that students submit entries well before the deadline.
