The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has filed a formal complaint with Delhi Police after cyber attackers targeted its Post-Result Services Portal. The board approached the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) Unit of Delhi Police and requested a detailed investigation into the attacks.
Why Is This Portal Important?
CBSE launched the Post-Result Services Portal on June 2, 2026. The portal allows Class 12 students to apply for services such as verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer sheets, and re-evaluation of answer scripts. Lakhs of students across India use the portal during the post-result process.

What Happened During the Attacks?
CBSE reported that attackers launched repeated and coordinated cyber attacks over the last three days. They generated huge volumes of malicious internet traffic from multiple IP addresses located both within India and abroad.
According to the board, the attackers appeared to aim at disrupting the portal, blocking access for genuine users, and attempting unauthorized extraction of information. Such disruptions could have affected a large number of students and created inconvenience during the important post-result period.
Did the Attacks Affect Student Data?
CBSE has assured students and parents that its systems remained secure throughout the attacks. The board confirmed that no data breach occurred and no unauthorized person gained access to student information. All databases remained protected and uncompromised.
How Did CBSE Stop the Attacks?
CBSE successfully countered the attacks through continuous 24×7 monitoring and rapid response systems. Several leading cybersecurity organizations and government agencies supported the effort.
Cybersecurity experts from IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, Digital India Corporation, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), CERT-In, and other Central Government agencies worked together to protect the portal and maintain its services.

CBSE has requested Delhi Police to identify those responsible for the attacks and take appropriate legal action. The board emphasized that protecting student services and maintaining the security of its digital platforms remain top priorities.
