Eligible CBSE teachers and principals can submit their online applications by July 12, 2026, for the National Awards to Teachers 2025–26 under the CBSE quota.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited self-nominations from eligible teachers and principals of its affiliated private independent schools for the National Awards to Teachers 2025–26.
The Ministry of Education has asked CBSE to recommend six nominations under its quota. Interested applicants must submit their applications online by July 12, 2026.
CBSE Invites Online Applications
According to Circular No. Acad-47/2026, dated July 3, 2026, CBSE has opened the online application process for eligible teachers and principals working in private independent schools affiliated with the Board. Only online applications will be accepted through the official CBSE portal.
Who Can Apply for Award?
CBSE has invited applications from eligible teachers and principals who meet the required service conditions.
Teachers must have completed at least 10 years of regular service in schools affiliated with a recognized school education board by March 31, 2026.
Principals must have completed 10 years of regular service as a teacher and 5 years as a Principal in CBSE-affiliated schools by March 31, 2026.
Teachers or principals who retired on or after March 31, 2026, can also apply.
Principals cannot apply under the Teacher category. Each applicant can submit an application under only one category.
Last Date to Apply
Applicants must complete the online application process on or before July 12, 2026. CBSE has asked applicants to upload all required documents along with their application before the deadline.
Documents Required
Applicants need to upload:
- A signed undertaking confirming that all submitted information is correct.
- Recommendation letters signed by the school manager, including continuous service certification and vigilance clearance.
- Educational certificates and mark sheets.
- Board or school examination results.
- Other required supporting documents mentioned in the application portal.
How Will CBSE Select the Candidates?
CBSE will prepare a merit list based on several factors, including:
- Teaching experience
- Age
- Academic qualifications
- Performance in qualifying examinations
- Other prescribed selection criteria
The Board will shortlist the top 24 applicants from the merit list. In case of a tie, CBSE may apply additional criteria. Shortlisted candidates will receive two days to upload verified documents in PDF format. Teachers must get their documents verified by the Head of School, while principals must get them verified by the School Manager.
Final Selection Process
A National Level Scrutiny Committee will further examine the shortlisted applications. The committee will invite eligible applicants for an interactive session before selecting the final six nominations that CBSE will recommend under its quota for the National Awards to Teachers 2025–26.
