CIET-NCERT has announced an online training programme on “Safeguarding Against Cybercrime”. The programme will help learners and educators understand cyber risks and follow safe digital practices. The training will also focus on protecting children from online threats and responding to cyber incidents.
The programme follows the vision of the National Education Policy 2020. NEP 2020 highlights the need for safe and responsible use of technology in education. The training will support awareness about digital safety and privacy.

Five-Day Online Training Will Cover Key Cyber Safety Topics
CIET-NCERT will organise the training in collaboration with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C). The programme will cover cybercrime risks and online safety through five sessions from 31 August to 4 September 2026.

Training will build practical cyber safety skills
The training will help learners understand common cybercrimes and online exploitation. It will cover cyberbullying and online harassment. It will also cover gaming-related crimes and online grooming. Social media exploitation will form part of the training along with deepfakes and AI-enabled abuse.
Participants will also learn safe and responsible digital practices. The training will explain how to seek help and report cyber incidents through appropriate channels.
The programme will also introduce basic cyber incident response practices in schools. These practices will cover escalation and confidentiality. They will also focus on student protection and preservation of relevant digital evidence.
Live sessions will run from 4 pm to 5 pm
The online sessions will be broadcast live on the NCERT Official YouTube Channel. The sessions will also run on PM e-Vidya DTH TV Channels 6 to 12 from 4 pm to 5 pm.

Learners can earn a digital certificate
Learners who want a certificate must join the online course through DIKSHA. The course link will become available on 5 September 2026.
The certificate will count as part of 50 hours of CPD. Learners must complete the required course activities and pass the final assessment with at least 70 percent marks within three attempts. They must also complete the feedback form.

Steps for learners who want the certificate
How to Get the Certificate
Learners who want to earn the digital certificate need to complete these simple steps:
- Register on DIKSHA: Link your APAAR ID and DigiLocker ID with your DIKSHA account. If you have not created these IDs yet then create them first. You can skip this step if you have already completed it.
- Join the Course: Join the online course through the course link. The link will be available from 5 September 2026.
- Watch the Videos: Watch all the videos available in the course.
- Complete the Activities: Complete all course activities. These include discussion forums and interactive activities and assignments.
- Take the Final Assessment: You can take the assessment up to three times. You need to score 70% or above to qualify for the certificate.
- Get Your Certificate: Learners who complete all the requirements will receive a digital certificate. You can access it from your DIKSHA profile.
Learners must complete the final assessment within three attempts. They need at least 70 percent marks to become eligible for the certificate.
