Workshops Will Offer Guidance on Scholarships and Career Opportunities for Students

To strengthen career guidance in schools, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a special career orientation programme for principals and counsellors. The board will conduct these programmes across five cities in India, starting from 12 June 2025.

These orientation sessions will provide updated knowledge on higher education, scholarship schemes, and emerging career options. CBSE has taken this initiative under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises the importance of early career awareness in school systems.

When and Where Will the Programmes Be Held?

The first session will take place on 12 June at Rajasthan’s Government Senior Secondary School. Other programmes are scheduled as follows:

  • 20 June at Delhi Public School, North Campus, Bengaluru
  • 7 July at Varanasi
  • 14 July at Dehradun’s Doon International School
  • 26 July at Rockwoods High School, Udaipur

Each session will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and participants must reach by 9:30 AM.

Who Can Participate and What’s the Focus?

The programmes are exclusively for school principals and counsellors. The aim is to equip them with the latest tools and resources for effective student counselling. They will learn how to guide students in making informed decisions about higher education, scholarships, career options, and entrance exam preparation.

Participants Must Manage Their Own Travel

CBSE has clearly stated that participants will need to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. Schools are responsible for nominating suitable representatives, and seat availability is limited. Confirmed participants will be notified through email.

Sessions Will Focus on Skill Development and Tech Tools

These sessions will introduce new counselling techniques, as well as the use of digital platforms in education. The content will also include career guidance for competitive exams, scholarship search tools, and student mentoring methods.

Last Date for Supplementary Exam Registration is 17 June

In a related notice, CBSE has also reminded schools to submit student lists (LOC) for the 2025 Supplementary Exam by 17 June 2025. The board had issued a circular on 26 May about this process and reopened the link for five days to ensure wider participation. The last date to apply with late fees is 19 June 2025.

CBSE has clarified that no applications will be accepted after the final deadline. Schools must ensure that eligible students submit their forms on time and do not wait for the declaration of re-evaluation results.
