CBSE Announces Stamp Design Contest Celebrating UN@80: Winning Entry to Feature on National Postage Stamp
CBSE invites Class 9–12 students to design a stamp on India’s global role for UN@80. Winning design will be released nationally on 24 October 2025.
In a unique initiative celebrating the upcoming 80th anniversary of the United Nations, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a national-level Stamp Design Competition for students of Classes IX to XII.
The competition, launched in collaboration with the Department of Posts and the Ministry of External Affairs, invites young minds to visually express India’s global leadership on a multilateral stage.
According to the CBSE circular (No. Acad-40/2025) dated July 8, the competition will run from 8 July to 15 August 2025 and will be hosted via the MyGov portal. The winning design will be issued as an official Indian postage stamp, to be unveiled during a national event on 24 October 2025, coinciding with United Nations Day.
Celebrating India’s Role in Global Governance
The official theme of the contest is: “UN@80 and India’s leadership in building our future through multilateralism, global leadership, and stewardship.”
The initiative aims to engage students in reflecting on India’s evolving role in shaping global dialogue and policy through institutions like the UN.
“This is not just a design competition, but a platform to celebrate India’s contributions to global peace, diplomacy, and sustainable development,” said Dr. Praggya M. Singh, CBSE Director (Academics), in the circular.
Who Can Participate?
Students currently enrolled in Classes IX to XII in CBSE-affiliated schools are eligible. Their entries must follow specific artistic guidelines:

- Mediums allowed: crayons, pencil colours, watercolours, or acrylic paints
Each school will be responsible for organising the competition at their level, screening submissions, and uploading the top five entries to the MyGov platform before the deadline.
