CBSE Issues Advisory on Procurement of Genuine NCERT Textbooks – Schools and Parents Urged to Stay Alert
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released Circular No. 17/2025, dated 13 November 2025, addressing a serious concern over the circulation of counterfeit or fake NCERT textbooks being sold at discounted prices by unauthorized book sellers.
The Board stated that these fake textbooks are of inferior quality and often contain printing and content errors, which can negatively impact students’ learning experience.
In its official advisory, CBSE has urged all affiliated schools to guide parents and students to purchase only authentic NCERT textbooks through authorized and verified channels.
