Big Change in Government Job Recruitment: MPPSC Exams to Reduce, New Calendar to be Released Every Year
In a major decision aimed at simplifying government job recruitment, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) and the Employees Selection Board (ESB) have announced significant reforms.
The number of recruitment exams will be reduced sharply, and a new fixed calendar will be introduced every year. This move is expected to make the hiring process faster, more transparent, and easier for candidates.
What Are the Major Changes in MPPSC Recruitment Rules?
Starting from September 2025, MPPSC will publish the calendar for 2026 recruitments.
The biggest change is that candidates will no longer have to face multiple exams for similar jobs. Instead, the recruitment process will be consolidated, cutting down both the number of exams and the effort involved.
The ESB will now manage 25% of the total government recruitment, ensuring faster processing and reducing confusion among candidates.
How Will MPPSC and ESB Exams Change?
At present, MPPSC conducts 23 exams, while ESB organizes 28 exams. Under the new system:
- MPPSC’s 23 exams will be reduced to just 10.
- ESB’s 28 exams will be brought down to only 6.
This means candidates won’t have to fill separate forms for different jobs.
They will appear for a single exam, and based on their marks and preferences, departments will be allotted.
This is a major step toward making the system smarter and quicker.
Why Are These Changes Being Implemented?
The state government feels the current recruitment process is too complicated, expensive, and time-consuming for both candidates and departments. The new changes are meant to reduce administrative work, make recruitment faster, provide a fairer system for all applicants, and ensure that vacant posts are filled without delay. To support this, a new “model format” will be introduced, creating a uniform process across all departments. This model will make recruitment more predictable and organized.
How Will the MPPSC New System Benefit Candidates?
Candidates will enjoy a much simpler and quicker process under the new system. They will fill fewer forms, attend fewer exams, and receive their results and job offers much faster.
Another big advantage is the fixed recruitment calendar. With this in hand, aspirants can plan their studies and exam strategies better because they will know exactly when exams will happen and when results will be declared. This clarity will greatly reduce stress and confusion.
What Steps Are Being Taken to Prevent Fake Candidates?
To prevent impersonation and fraud, the government will introduce strict checks.
Candidates’ documents, photographs, and fingerprints will be verified multiple times during the recruitment process.
Their identity will be confirmed during the exam as well as the interview stages. Only verified candidates will be considered for appointments.
This step will strengthen the integrity of the entire recruitment process and ensure that only deserving candidates are selected.
When Will the MPPSC New Recruitment Calendar Come into Effect?
The first new calendar following these reforms will be released in September 2025 for the 2026 recruitment cycle.
Work on preparing this system has already begun, and detailed instructions will soon be shared by the General Administration Department.
