CIET-NCERT Launches Six-Day Online Training on “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education”

The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), a constituent unit of NCERT, has announced a six-day online training programme titled “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education.”

The institute will conduct the training from 16 to 24 February 2026 to help teachers integrate robotics and AI into classroom practices in line with NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023.

CIET develops and promotes technology-enabled educational resources through national platforms such as DIKSHA and ePathshala. The institute strengthens digital learning by offering multilingual resources in audio, video, graphics, animation, and interactive formats.

Through this initiative, CIET aims to support competency-based and experiential learning in schools across the country.

Training Aligns with NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023 Vision

The programme focuses on hands-on and inquiry-driven learning. It encourages teachers to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications through robotics and artificial intelligence.

Robotics-based learning supports integrated STEM and STEAM education and helps students design, build, test, and refine solutions. Teachers will learn to guide students in developing creativity, collaboration, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills.

CIET will live-stream the sessions from the NCERT studio. Experts will deliver talks and demonstrations to help schools adopt robotics-based experiential learning. The institute will later compile the full series as a structured course on the DIKSHA portal to ensure wider access.

What Are the Objectives of the Training?

The training will equip teachers to design competency-based learning experiences using robotics, AI, IoT, and machine learning. It will strengthen their understanding of design thinking and computational thinking.

The training programme will also enable teachers to mentor students in coding, testing, and refining technology-based projects. CIET will ensure alignment with NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023 throughout the sessions.

How Can Participants Earn a Certificate?

Participants who wish to receive a certificate must join the course on the DIKSHA portal after it launches. The course will remain open until 15 March 2026.

Participants must complete all session videos and attempt the final assessment. They can attempt the assessment three times. Those who score 70 percent or above will receive a certificate on their DIKSHA profile within 15–20 days.

Who Is Leading and Coordinating the Programme?

Prof. Amarendra P Behera and Prof. Indu Kumar serve as Programme Advisors. Dr. Praveen Bobby Binjha coordinates the programme and the course. The organising team includes academic and technical consultants from CIET, NCERT, New Delhi.
