NTA Starts NTET 2025 Applications for AYUSH PG Students – Check Details

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially invited applications for the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test (NTET) 2025, a national-level entrance test for postgraduate students of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy who aspire to join the teaching profession.

The application window is open from 4 June to 23 June 2025 (up to 11:50 PM). Candidates must complete the fee payment by 24 June 2025, and any corrections in the application form can be made from 25 June to 27 June 2025.

The NTET 2025 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode on 17 July 2025 (Thursday). The exam will be held in both English and Hindi, with a duration of 120 minutes (2 hours).

Who is Eligible?

The exam is open to Indian nationals who have completed or are currently pursuing Master’s degrees (MD) in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathy. Graduates from Indian medical institutions recognized in these systems, including those currently in the second or final year of their postgraduate studies, are eligible to apply.

Foreign nationals with equivalent postgraduate degrees may also apply, subject to relevant regulatory permissions. General category applicants are required to pay an application fee of ₹4000, while OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates must pay ₹3500. SC/ST/PwBD and Third Gender candidates must pay ₹3000.

Exam Pattern and Structure

The NTET will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a total of 100 marks. There will be no negative marking. Candidates must score at least 50% marks to qualify.

The question paper will be divided into three key sections:

  • 40 questions on teaching and research aptitude, including subjects like Education, ICT, Psychology, and Administration.
  • 40 questions on subject-specific content related to Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, or Homoeopathy disciplines.
  • 20 questions on general knowledge and awareness.

Candidates are advised to prepare accordingly and keep in mind that the NTET score is mandatory for those seeking teaching roles in AYUSH educational institutions.
