Ministry Launches Big Quiz Drive for World Environment Day 2025
In a major initiative to raise environmental awareness among students and citizens, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has launched a nationwide online quiz titled “Ending Plastic Pollution” to mark World Environment Day 2025, observed globally on 5th June.
Organised through the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in collaboration with MyGov, this quiz aims to engage school and college students in an interactive learning experience focused on the harmful impacts of plastic pollution. The quiz supports the United Nations’ theme for this year’s Environment Day, “2025 – Ending Plastic Pollution,” and serves as a platform to promote informed environmental responsibility.
Encouraging Critical Thinking and Environmental Action
The quiz is designed not only to educate but also to inspire students to reflect on global environmental challenges. It highlights the causes, consequences, and solutions related to plastic pollution.
Through this initiative, the Ministry seeks to instil critical thinking skills and a sense of individual responsibility among youth to support India’s move toward a plastic-free future.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable practices, alternatives to plastic use, and India’s collective role in addressing climate and ecological threats.
