Why is 23rd August Celebrated as National Space Day?
On 23rd August 2023, India created history when the Chandrayaan-3 mission’s Vikram Lander successfully landed on the Moon’s surface. This proud achievement made India the fourth country to land on the Moon and the first nation to land on the Lunar South Pole region.
To commemorate this milestone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared 23rd August as National Space Day (NSpD).
