The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has announced a five-day online training programme titled “Financial Safety”, which will be conducted in Hindi mode from November 10 to 14, 2025, every day from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The training is being organized by CIET-NCERT in collaboration with the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.
The programme aims to strengthen financial literacy and awareness among teachers, students, parents, and educational administrators in an increasingly digital financial environment.
Empowering Educators and Learners in the Digital Age
In today’s fast-evolving digital economy, financial safety has become a crucial life skill. With the widespread use of digital banking, e-commerce platforms, and online payments, financial transactions — from salary transfers to student fees and scholarships — have shifted online.
However, this digital transformation has also introduced risks such as fraud, phishing, identity theft, and unauthorized transactions.
The training underlines that financial safety is not only an individual responsibility but also a shared institutional obligation. Educational institutions play a key role in promoting trust, transparency, and accountability in the digital financial system.
Focus on Awareness and Prevention
The growing number of cyber-enabled financial crimes has made it essential for educators and administrators to understand digital security. The sessions will help participants recognize and prevent scams such as fake investment schemes, phishing messages, OTP frauds, and data breaches.
Participants will also learn preventive measures such as:
- Using secure banking and payment systems,
- Adopting strong authentication,
- Verifying digital payment sources, and
- Identifying warning signs in online communication.
The training aims to promote a culture of financial responsibility, enabling individuals to engage safely and confidently with digital technologies.
Training Objectives
After completing this five-day series, participants will be able to:
- Understand the key concepts and challenges of financial safety in digital environments.
- Identify common types of financial fraud and explore preventive measures.
- Encourage responsible and secure financial behavior among teachers, students, and administrators.
- Review institutional financial policies to ensure transparency and secure transactions.
- Apply practical strategies to foster financially safe and transparent educational environments.
