However, students who did not appear in at least three subjects in the first exam and those placed in the ER category cannot appear. Students must remember that they can improve marks only in Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages, and they can choose a maximum of three subjects.

Key highlights students should know

CBSE will conduct the exams in offline pen-and-paper mode. The board has included a wide range of language and skill-based subjects in the schedule. Students must follow all CBSE guidelines while entering the examination centre and carry their admit cards issued by their schools. These instructions are important to ensure a smooth examination process.

When will CBSE declare the results?

CBSE usually declares Class 10 results within four to six weeks after exams conclude. For the second board exams, students can expect results around June 2026, although CBSE has not officially confirmed the exact date yet.

The board has maintained a strong pass percentage in recent years, and the second exam system will likely improve results further. CBSE will consider the best score between the main exam and the second exam as final.

Why the second board exam is important

The second board exam system brings a major change in the evaluation process. It gives students a chance to improve marks without losing an academic year. It reduces pressure during the main exam and offers more flexibility in learning. Education experts believe this system supports better performance and aligns with modern global education practices.
