Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Announces Major Changes for NEET Exam
The Government has announced several major changes for the NEET examination after the cancellation of NEET UG 2026 due to the paper leak controversy. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shared these updates during a press conference after NTA announced the NEET UG 2026 re-exam date.
The National Testing Agency will now conduct the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on 21 June 2026 across the country. Students will not need to pay any extra fee for the re-exam, and NTA will not ask candidates to complete fresh registration.

The Education Minister also confirmed that NEET will move to online mode from next year. Until now, NTA conducted the examination through OMR sheets in offline mode. The Government will now conduct the country’s biggest medical entrance examination through computers.
Dharmendra Pradhan accepted that mistakes happened during the earlier examination process. He assured students and parents that the Government stands with students and will take strict action against everyone involved in the paper leak case.
The Minister also said that the Central Bureau of Investigation will continue a detailed investigation into the matter. He promised stronger security and stricter arrangements for future examinations.
