CBSE has asked affiliated schools to encourage students of Classes VI to IX to participate in the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2026. Registration is free and will remain open until August 15, 2026.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed all affiliated schools about the 19th edition of the Wild Wisdom Global Challenge (WWGC) 2026, organised by WWF-India. The Board has requested schools to share the information with students of Classes VI to IX and encourage maximum participation in the programme.
Challenge Focuses on Marine Conservation
This year’s theme is “From the Coastline to the Seafloor – An Ocean Odyssey.” The programme aims to introduce students to the world beneath the waves and build awareness about marine conservation.
Students of Classes VI to IX Can Participate
Students studying in Classes VI to IX are eligible to participate in the challenge. There is no registration fee, and schools can register their students until August 15, 2026 through the official Wild Wisdom website.
Challenge Covers Six Marine Themes
The challenge will introduce students to six themes related to marine life and conservation:
- Marine Diversity and Distribution
- World Beneath the Waves
- Life Functions Underwater
- Adaptations and Behaviour
- Challenge to Oceans Health
- Human–Ocean Interaction and Conservation Stewardship
WWF-India Will Provide Study Resources
WWF-India will provide preparation material to help students prepare for the challenge. The resources include:
- E-learning study material
- Practice quiz series
- Expert-led sessions by marine specialists
Challenge Will Take Place in Five Levels
The Wild Wisdom Global Challenge 2026 will follow five stages.

How Students Progress Through the Challenge
Students will begin with online classroom quizzes. The top two students from each classroom will qualify for the State Level.
Top-performing participants will advance to the Zonal Level. Winning teams from each zone will compete in the National Finale in Delhi. The National Champion will then represent the country in the International Finale, which will take place on a virtual platform.
Challenge Will Be Conducted in English
The annexure states that all levels of the challenge will be conducted only in the English language.
Winners Will Receive Awards and Recognition
Students will receive a digital participation certificate at the classroom level.
At the State, Zonal and National levels, winning teams will receive trophies, medals, participation certificates and prizes.
Teacher coordinators whose teams finish among the top three at the National Level will receive a certificate of appreciation and an all-expenses-paid trip to a National Park or Nature Reserve with the students.
Schools that secure first position at the International Level will receive the Wild Wisdom Champions 2026 trophy along with certificates.
The teams securing first, second and third positions at the National Level will also receive an all-expenses-paid Wild Explorer Experience to a National Park or Nature Reserve.
