CBSE asks affiliated schools to encourage students to participate in the National Cyber Awareness Grand Challenge 2026 and promote cyber safety through creative awareness videos.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all its affiliated schools to promote the National Cyber Awareness Grand Challenge 2026 among students. The challenge is an initiative of the Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Project under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
CBSE has requested schools to share the information with students and encourage maximum participation.
National Challenge Aims to Promote Cyber Safety
According to the CBSE circular, the National Cyber Awareness Grand Challenge 2026 aims to promote cyber safety and cybersecurity awareness among students and citizens.
The challenge provides a national platform where participants can create awareness campaigns, digital content, posters, videos, presentations and other communication materials on cyber safety. It also aims to encourage responsible digital citizenship, creativity, design thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.
Participants Will Create Cyber Awareness Videos
The brochure states that participants will create impactful cyber awareness videos in any of the 22 officially recognised Indian languages. The videos should spread cybersecurity awareness and also reflect local culture and heritage. Individuals as well as groups can participate in the challenge.
Participants Can Choose One Target Category
Participants can prepare their videos for any one of the following target groups:
- Senior Citizens / Elderly
- Women
- Children / Students
Each video should focus on cyber awareness for the selected category.
Topics Covered in the Challenge
The challenge includes several cyber safety themes.
For Senior Citizens / Elderly, the suggested topics include phishing scams, online banking and financial fraud, digital arrest scams, malicious applications, misuse of remote access applications and the risks of sharing OTPs and UPI PINs.
For Women, the topics include online harassment, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, identity theft, fake profiles, image-based abuse, phishing related to shopping and jobs, privacy invasion on social media, deepfake blackmail, romance scams and voice cloning.
For Children / Students, the suggested topics include cyberbullying, online gaming scams, exposure to inappropriate content, social media and gaming addiction, sharing personal information unknowingly, online predators or grooming, and fake contests and in-app scams.
The brochure also allows participants to choose additional topics related to emerging cyber threats and evolving digital risks that are relevant to the selected target group.
Grand Challenge Will Follow Four Stages
The competition will take place in four stages.
The first stage is Idea Submission (Concept Stage), where participants will submit a video concept or storyboard in English or Hindi.
The second stage is Video Creation and Submission, where shortlisted participants will prepare and submit their final videos.
The third stage is Evaluation and Jury Review, during which experts will evaluate the submitted entries.
The final stage includes the announcement of winners after the evaluation process.
