CBSE Announces Teacher Training Schedule on Design Thinking and Innovation – Read Details

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important notification which is dated 29 August 2025. It outlines the schedule for Teacher Training Programs on Design Thinking and Innovation(DTI) to be held in face-to-face mode.

According to this circular, CBSE has collaborated with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and faculty from IIT-Bombay and has developed new modules on Design Thinking and Innovation for students of Classes VI to XII. The initiative is designed to give students the tools and exposure needed to address real-world challenges through the design thinking process.

The modules by CBSE for teachers combine both conceptual knowledge and practical application. They are focused on hands-on learning, encouraging students to take action on challenges discovered in their communities and surroundings.

Many schools has implemented these skill modules and skill subjects by CBSE and thousands of students enrolled for it. To continue the same in the academic year 2025-26, the schools are requested to nominate teachers for DTI skill module & skill subject implementation and include this in its school calendar. 

As part of this initiative, a one-day teacher training program has been scheduled by CBSE and DTI across ten different locations between September 2025 and February 2026.

Who Can Apply for CBSE Training ?

The circular states that Directors, Principals, Vice-Principals and Teachers can apply, particularly those who are Innovation Ambassadors or are teaching or interested in Design Thinking and Innovation.

Key Guidelines

The training will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at each location. Participation will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers who have already attended a similar face-to-face workshop are advised not to register again.

The board has clarified that there is no fee for the training and no TA/DA will be provided. The final list of selected participants will be published on https://sia.mic.gov.in/DTI and also sent by email at least 20 days before the session.
