Seven Sessions to Help Teachers and Students Use Virtual Labs
The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) under NCERT has announced an online training programme on “Integration of Virtual Labs in Teaching-Learning and Assessment.” The programme aims to help teachers and students use virtual labs to make learning more practical and engaging.
The training will run from 28 September to 7 October 2026. Participants can join the live sessions from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The programme will cover the use of virtual labs in teaching and assessment across different subjects.
Why Has CIET-NCERT Planned This Training?
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 highlights the importance of practical and hands-on learning. It also recommends the use of digital platforms to give students better access to quality education.
Virtual labs allow students to explore concepts through online experiments and simulations. They also offer videos and animations along with self-assessment activities. These resources help students learn by doing rather than relying only on textbooks or videos.
NCERT launched virtual labs on the DIKSHA platform on 29 July 2022. The new training programme will help educators understand these resources and use them in classrooms or at home.
Who Can Participate in the Training?
Students and teachers can join the programme. Teacher educators and parents can also participate. School administrators and members of the general public can take part as well.
