NCERT Announces Online Training on “ICT in Teaching and Learning of Social Sciences”

NCERT is set to organize a five-day online training programme on “Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Teaching and Learning of Social Sciences”.

NCERT Online Training 2025: Learn How to Transform Social Science Teaching with ICT Tools

This training aims to empower educators with modern digital tools and interactive methods, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme will run from 17-21 February 2025 in English and 24-28 February 2025 in Hindi. Each session will be broadcast live on NCERT’s YouTube channel from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM daily.

Participants can also watch live broadcasts via PM e-Vidya DTH channels, DD Free Dish, Dish TV channels, and the Jio TV mobile app.

Objective of the Training Programme

Through this training, participants will be able to:

  • Analyze the effectiveness and importance of ICT in social science education.
  • Evaluate digital resources and tools in educational processes.
  • Develop proficiency in using audio-visual resources for interactive teaching.
  • Enhance student engagement and cognitive learning using advanced digital tools.
  • Explore educational benefits of interactive mapping, virtual exploration, and other innovative technologies.
  • Address key issues related to ethical and responsible use of digital technology in education.

Who Can Participate in the Training?

The training is open for students, teachers, teacher trainers, parents, administrators, and all individuals interested in ICT-based social science education.

Day 3: 26 February 2025 Digital Tools for Social Sciences (Ms. Sanchita Ghosh, Sanskriti School, New Delhi)
Day 4: 27 February 2025 Bhuvan: An Exploratory Tool for Social Sciences (Ms. Neeti Singh Malik, DPS Ghaziabad)
Day 5: 28 February 2025 Google Earth: An Interactive Mapping Resource for Social Sciences (Dr. Pushpendra Singh, Maharaja Agrasen Model School, Delhi)

How to Participate in NCERT CIET Training?

Step 1: Registration

Participants must register through this Google Form link.

Step 2: Attend Live Sessions

Attend live sessions from 24-28 February 2025, daily between 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, on the official NCERT YouTube channel. Recordings will also be available on the provided playlist link here.

Step 3: Enroll in Online Course & Get Certified

Interested participants who wish to obtain a certificate must:

  • Enroll in the online course available on the Diksha portal.
  • View all five session videos and complete the final assessment.
  • Score at least 70% on the final assessment.
  • Download your certificate from your Diksha profile within 15-20 days after completion.

Step 4: Submit Feedback

Share your feedback via the provided Google Form link.
