CIET-NCERT and CyberPeace Launch Online Training Series to Strengthen Digital Awareness and Information Integrity
The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, in collaboration with CyberPeace, will conduct a five-day online training programme on “Information Integrity & Cognitive Security” from 03 August to 07 August 2026.
The free training sessions will take place every day from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The programme focuses on helping educators and learners understand information integrity, identify information manipulation, and promote responsible digital participation.

Training Supports NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023 Vision
The training programme aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which recognizes technology as an important tool for improving teaching, learning, assessment, educational planning, and administration. The policy encourages the safe, ethical, and inclusive use of technology while promoting digital learning resources, teacher capacity building, research, and innovation.
The programme also reflects the goals of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE 2023), which highlights digital literacy, digital citizenship, media and information literacy, ethical awareness, critical thinking, and responsible technology use as essential skills for learners.
Programme Focuses on Information Integrity and Cognitive Security
According to CIET-NCERT, the rapid growth of digital platforms, social media, and artificial intelligence has changed the way people create, share, and consume information. While these technologies offer new opportunities for communication and learning, they also increase the spread of misinformation, disinformation, malinformation, deepfakes, synthetic media, and other manipulated content.
The training programme aims to help participants critically evaluate digital information, recognize manipulation techniques, make informed decisions, and contribute to a safe, trustworthy, and responsible digital environment.
Learning Objectives of the Training
After completing the training series, participants will be able to understand the concept and importance of information integrity in digital environments. They will learn to distinguish between misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation while identifying their sources, characteristics, motivations, and impact on society.
The programme will also explain the principles of cognitive security, including the influence of emotions, cognitive biases, and psychological manipulation on decision-making. Participants will study the role of artificial intelligence, generative AI, deepfakes, bots, and other emerging technologies in spreading information threats. They will also learn practical strategies to build information resilience, respond to information manipulation, and promote ethical digital citizenship.

How to Attend the Live Training (No Certificate)
Learners who want to attend the training without obtaining a certificate can watch the live sessions through the official broadcasting platforms. They can also access the recorded sessions later from the official YouTube playlist.

How to Join the Course and Get a Certificate
Learners who want to receive the digital certificate, which counts towards 50 Hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD), must complete the online course on DIKSHA after the live training. They must complete all required activities and meet the assessment criteria.

Programme Advisory and Coordination Team
The programme advisory includes Prof. Amarendra P. Behera, Joint Director, CIET-NCERT, and Prof. Shireesh Pal Singh, Head, DICT & TD, CIET-NCERT.
Dr. Angel Rathnabai, Associate Professor, CIET-NCERT, will serve as the Programme Coordinator and Course Coordinator.
The technical coordination team includes Dr. Geeta Dhasmana, Academic Consultant, CIET-NCERT, and Mr. Sagar Siddh, Senior Project Associate, CIET-NCERT.
Live Broadcast and Recorded Sessions
CIET-NCERT will broadcast the live sessions on the NCERT Official YouTube Channel from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The sessions will also be simulcast on PM eVidya DTH TV Channels (6–12).
Participants can also watch the sessions through DD Free Dish Channels, Dish TV Channels 2027–2033, and the Jio TV mobile app. CIET-NCERT will upload recorded sessions to a dedicated YouTube playlist for later access.

Certificate and CPD Eligibility
Learners who wish to earn a certificate that counts towards the 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) must join the online course on DIKSHA through the course link that CIET-NCERT will release on the last day of the live sessions.
To receive the digital certificate, learners must complete all digital resources, participate in the course activities, score 70% or above in the final assessment within three attempts, and submit the feedback form. Eligible learners will receive the certificate through the DIKSHA portal. They can also access it from their profile page and DigiLocker.
Important Course Dates
The live training sessions will run from 03 August to 07 August 2026.
Course enrolment will open on 08 August 2026 and close on 10 March 2027. The course will officially close on 15 March 2027.
How Learners Can Participate
Learners who only want to attend the live sessions can watch them on the NCERT Official YouTube Channel or PM eVidya DTH TV Channels and interact with the experts. They can also access the recorded sessions through the official playlist.
Learners who want the certificate must first register on DIKSHA and link their APAAR ID and DigiLocker ID. After joining the online course, they must watch the course videos, complete all learning activities, take the final assessment, and secure at least 70% marks within three attempts to become eligible for the digital certificate.
