Five-hour teacher training series aims to build teachers’ capacity in designing high-quality online courses
Participate in the ten hours online training titled “Development of Online Course” organized by the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT during 02-13 March, 2026 from 4 PM to 5 PM.
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), has launched a nationwide online training programme to help educators design and develop effective online courses.
The initiative responds to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which requires teachers to complete 50 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) every year. With nearly one crore teachers across India, organising large-scale face-to-face training often becomes difficult. NCERT says online learning offers a practical and scalable solution.
To support teachers and education professionals, the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT will conduct a nine-day online training series titled “Development of Online Course” from 2 March to 13 March 2026. The sessions will run daily from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The programme will guide educators on digital pedagogy, instructional design, online assessments, and learner engagement strategies, helping them design structured and high-quality online courses.

NCERT designed the programme to help teachers and education professionals understand how to design, develop and deliver structured online courses.
The training focuses on improving educators’ digital teaching skills and ensuring that online courses remain pedagogically sound, inclusive and effective.
