NTA opens NCET 2026 registration for 4-Year ITEP programme. Apply by 10 March 2026 for admission to top universities and start your teaching career
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened online registration for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026 for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP).
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) launched this flagship programme under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to prepare skilled and qualified teachers for India’s future education system. Eligible candidates can now apply online, and authorities will close registration on 10 March 2026 at 11:50 PM.
The NTA will conduct NCET 2026 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for admission to ITEP for the academic session 2026–27. Candidates who qualify will participate in counselling and admission processes conducted by Central Universities, State Universities, IITs, NITs, Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs), and Government Colleges that NCTE recognises for the ITEP programme.
ITEP offers a 4-year integrated degree that combines subject knowledge, teaching skills, and practical classroom training. The programme aims to produce well-trained teachers and strengthen India’s school education system in line with NEP 2020 reforms.
Candidates interested in building a teaching career should complete their application before the deadline and prepare for the entrance test. The programme provides a direct and structured pathway to become a professional teacher through recognised national institutions.
