NCERT to Conduct Online Training on Digital Tools for Social Science Teachers From November 24
Online training aims to help teachers use digital tools to make Social Science learning more interactive and effective
NCERT has announced a special four-day online training programme for teachers titled “Transforming Social Science Teaching through Digital Technologies.” The sessions will run from November 24 to 27, 2025, every day from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the NCERT Official YouTube Channel and PM eVidya DTH channels.
What is the main purpose of this digital training programme?
The Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, has designed this programme to help teachers use digital tools, Google Workspace for Education, and modern online platforms to improve classroom teaching. The training focuses on making Social Science lessons more interactive, inquiry-based, and aligned with NEP 2020.
The training also supports teachers in designing better digital lesson plans, creating visual learning material, using data for classroom discussions, and building a meaningful digital learning environment for students.
Why is digital technology important for Social Science classrooms?
NCERT states that digital tools greatly help teachers and students. With e-resources like DIKSHA and ePathshala, learners can access documents, videos, images, audios, animations, and interactive materials in many languages.
Digital platforms also help teachers bring creativity, collaboration, and innovation into Social Science teaching. NEP 2020 highlights that digital technology must play a central role in school education, teacher development, and overall student learning.
What will teachers learn during the four-day sessions?
Teachers will receive step-by-step guidance from Google for Education experts and NCERT faculty. They will learn how to create powerful visual content, build digital lesson plans, improve classroom discussions, and use digital tools safely and effectively.
Who can participate in this training?
School Principals, Teachers, Teacher Educators, Pupil Teachers, policymakers, and stakeholders, etc.
