NIEPA Launches Master of Arts in School Leadership and Management to Build Future School Leaders

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed schools that the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) has launched a new Master of Arts in School Leadership and Management (MASLM) programme for the 2026-27 academic session.

NIEPA, a Deemed-to-be University under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has designed this two-year postgraduate programme to help current and aspiring school leaders strengthen their leadership and management skills.

What Is the MASLM Programme?

The Master of Arts in School Leadership and Management (MASLM) is a two-year postgraduate programme that focuses on developing leadership competencies in the education sector.

NIEPA has specially designed the programme for Principals, Vice-Principals, Head Teachers, Coordinators, and aspiring school leaders. The programme follows a flexible, practitioner-focused, and blended learning approach aligned with the vision of NEP 2020.

Who Can Apply for the Programme?

The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration invites applications for
admission to a 2-year Master of Arts in School Leadership and Management (MASLM)

Eligibility: Candidates with a 3-year or 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline along with
mandatory professional degree in Education can apply for the Programme.

Students currently studying in the final semester of their bachelor’s programme can also apply. However, they must submit proof of successful completion of their degree at the time of admission.

How Will NIEPA Select Candidates?

NIEPA will select candidates through an aptitude and attitude-based screening process. Applicants must submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) along with their application.

After screening, eligible candidates will appear for a face-to-face or online interview. The interview will carry 50 marks, and NIEPA will prepare the final merit list based on candidates’ performance.

Interested candidates must submit their applications online through the official NIEPA website. Before filling out the application form, candidates should carefully read the prospectus and admission instructions available on the institute’s website.

NIEPA has fixed the application fee at:
