CBSE Parenting Calendar 2025-26: A Holistic Guide to Strengthen Parent-School Collaboration
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, has launched the Parenting Calendar for the academic session 2025-26.
This structured initiative aims to foster holistic student development by building stronger partnerships between schools and parents. The calendar is designed to provide a framework that nurtures the academic, emotional, and social growth of students.
Vision and Objectives – CBSE’s Parenting Calendar is a transformative tool that encourages active parental involvement in the educational journey of students.
Inspired by Indian educational philosophy and rooted in values like self-discipline (Atma-vinigraha), reverence for knowledge (Shraddha), perseverance (Sadhana), and self-reflection (Swadhyaya), the initiative focuses on the following objectives:
- Strengthening Parent-Teacher Engagement
- Supporting Diverse Student Needs
- Establishing a Consistent Communication Framework
- Providing Structured Support and Intervention
Core Pillars of the Parenting Calendar (4Rs Framework)
- Relationship Building: Creating open communication channels between parents, teachers, and school staff.
- Reinforcement through Awareness: Empowering parents with expert-driven tools and knowledge.
- Reflection: Providing a platform for dialogue and shared learning among parents.
- Rejoicing: Celebrating parental involvement and student achievements.
Section 1: Strengthening Parent-School Collaboration Orientation sessions, class teacher meetings, special PTMs, and counselor interactions are structured to support student development. These interactions include familiarization sessions, need-based discussions, and targeted support for children with special needs.
Section 2: Integrated Classroom Strategies Teachers will embed developmental themes into daily classroom activities and share outcomes with parents. Activities include:
- Nursery: Sensory learning, social stories, and community awareness
- Grades 1-2: Storytelling, hands-on learning, and emotional hygiene
- Grades 6-8: Leadership training, goal-setting, and digital literacy
- Grades 11-12: Career counselling, mental health support, and digital citizenship
Section 3: Parenting Workshops Each grade level will conduct two workshops per year covering topics like emotional intelligence, discipline, digital resilience, and academic support. Examples include:
- Kindergarten: Managing tantrums and technology boundaries
- Grades 3-5: Social awareness and screen-time management
- Grades 9-10: Exam stress, distractions, and communication
Section 4: Parent-Child Bonding Activities Activities are designed to foster parent-child engagement beyond academics:
- Nursery: Grandparents’ Day and storytelling sessions
- Grades 3-5: Role Reversal Day and global lunch events
- Grades 6-8: Parent-child innovation challenges and wellness meets
- Grades 11-12: Financial literacy workshops and reflective activities
CBSE Parenting Survey 2025: Key Insights

- 43.5% of parents believe they fully understand their impact
- Areas of concern include academics (13.7%), social skills (12.3%), and discipline (12.1%)
- 57.1% of parents are open to parenting workshops
- Preferred formats: mobile apps (46.4%), short videos (34.2%)
- Preferred feedback: PTMs (37.4%), online surveys (28.3%)
Implementation Guidelines
- Schools must integrate the calendar into their academic year
- Offline events are prioritised, but online modes are permitted where necessary
- Schools should appoint coordinators and seek regular feedback from parents
