CBSE Issues Circular for DigiLocker Activation Before Results Announcement

Education Desk : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new circular that every Class 10 and 12 student should know about. It explains how students can access their board results and official academic documents digitally through DigiLocker, the national digital document platform.

With the CBSE Result 2025 expected soon, the board is urging both students and schools to complete DigiLocker activation in advance. This will ensure a smoother experience when results are announced.

What’s New This Year: Access Code System

To make the process more secure and private, CBSE has introduced a six-digit Access Code. Students will need this code to activate their DigiLocker account. Each code is unique and is issued by the school.

After entering the access code, along with their roll number and school code, students must complete OTP verification using their mobile number. Once done, they can log into DigiLocker and view their digital marksheets, pass certificates, and migration certificates under the “Issued Documents” section—without needing any physical copy.

What CBSE Schools Are Required to Do

CBSE has provided every school with a downloadable file that includes access codes for each student. Schools can log in at cbse.digitallocker.gov.in using their regular LOC credentials.

Separate files are available for Class 10 and 12 students. Schools must securely distribute these codes to students and share the official user manual provided by CBSE to guide them through the process.

What About CBSE Students Outside India?

CBSE has also made it easy for students studying in international schools. These students have two options to access their documents:

  1. Visit results.digilocker.gov.in, enter roll number and date of birth, and download the marksheet.

  2. If any issue occurs, submit a support ticket at nad-support.digilocker.gov.in under the category “CBSE International Student 2025.” Verified students will receive documents via email.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Activate DigiLocker for CBSE Result 2025

Step Instructions
Step 1 Receive your 6-digit Access Code from your school.
Step 2 Go to CBSE DigiLocker Portal.
Step 3 Click on “Get Started with Account Confirmation”.
Step 4 Select your class (10 or 12) and enter School Code, Roll Number, and Access Code.
Step 5 (For Class 12) Also enter your Date of Birth.
Step 6 Submit your mobile number, receive an OTP, and verify it.
Step 7 Once verified, your DigiLocker account will be activated.
Step 8 After result day, check “Issued Documents” to download your marksheet.

For Students with Existing DigiLocker Accounts

Even if a student already has a DigiLocker account created earlier using Aadhaar or mobile number, they still need to activate it with the new CBSE access code. Without this step, digital documents will not appear automatically after the result is published. Instead, students will have to manually search for them.

Final Advice Before Result Day

CBSE is encouraging all students to activate their accounts before the results go live. Doing this early can help avoid login issues or delays during peak traffic. This year’s process is being overseen by Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, to ensure smooth delivery of documents.

Students and school authorities are advised to follow CBSE’s official websites and DigiLocker portals closely for updates.
